Durham’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup run comes to an end, losing 4-1 to Brighton.
Bruna Vilamala gave Brighton the lead in the 6th minute, before Michelle Agyemang’s penalty and Guro Bergsvand’s strike tripled their lead in the first-half.
Hannah Blake pulled one back in the 70th minute before Nikita Paris added to the scoresheet in stoppage time, securing Brighton’s place in the fifth-round.
Adam Furness made multiple changes from the side that beat Southampton on Sunday. Tatiana Saunders, Carly Johns and Abby Holmes all started, with the visitors also shuffling their pack.
Brighton took an early lead in the 6th minute through Bruna Vilamala, who found the net from Olislagers cross.
A handball from Sarah Wilson in the 19th minute awarded the Seagulls a spot kick, with Michelle Agyemang scoring the penalty.
Brightons third came two minutes later, with Saunders blocking Marisa Olislagers’ shot from edge of the area onto the crossbar, which fell to Gura Bergsvand who knocked it over the line in the 21st minute.
Durham made three 62-minute changes and Hannah Blake, Kalia Novak and Eleanor Ryan-Doyle all made immediate impact, before Blake scored Durham’s first with an outstretched right leg in the 70th minute.
Brighton substitute Nikita Paris sealed their win in the 95th minute, tapping home from close range.
