Durham lost out in a nine-goal thriller at Tottenham Hotspur.
An early strike from Wendy Martin was added to by a Bianca Baptiste brace as Spurs raced into a three-goal lead within seven minutes.
But Durham battled back into the game and recovered – Beth Hepple pulling one back before the break and Nicki Gears netting two of her own to level things up.
As the Wildcats pushed forward, Spurs regained their lead on the break through Sarah Wiltshire before Ronnell Humes and Lucia Leon added some gloss to the scoreline late on.
Spurs began on top and were ahead after only two minutes as Martin reacted quickest to flick home Sarah Wilthsire’s dinked cross.
And the lead was doubled only moments later as Baptiste saw her in-swinging corner beat everyone and fly over Helen Alderson.
The Spurs striker then netted her second – and her side’s third – when she fired home from the edge of the area to top off a fine opening seven minutes for the hosts.
After the early onslaught, Durham grew into the game and Hepple gave her side a lifeline on half-time with a fine long range effort.
Gears then reduced the deficit even further when she curled home from the edge of the area after the break, before she levelled things up with a close range finish.
But with their first real attack of the second half, Tottenham regained the lead as Wiltshire saw her dipping shot beat substitute stopper Megan Borthwick.
The winning margin was increased late on as Humes swept home from close range after Baptiste’s teasing cross from the left.
Leon then had the last word as she side-footed into the corner from 12 yards as the Wildcats left Cheshunt with nothing.
