Durham WDurham suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
Emily Syme’s brace each side of half-time gave the hosts the lead before Lexi Lloyd-Smith added to the scoresheet in the 67th minute.
Adam Furness made two changes from the side that progressed to the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup against Birmingham City – Kaila Novak and Abby Holmes coming in for Hannah Blake and Lauren Briggs.
Substitutes Tianna Teisar and Amalie Thestrup then netted to make it four and five respectively.
Bristol City had a handful of chances in the first half – Robins captain Jamie-Lee Napier’s low cross into the box found Emily Syme who was denied by Tatiana Saunders.
Lily Crosthwaite’s strength allowed her a clear shot from close range in the 40th minute, but Fran Bentley got down to block it.
A double Ffion Morgan chance came in the 44th minute as Bristol City’s play allowed the forward a shot on goal before she attempted a long-range effort, but both were denied by Saunders.
Syme gave the Robins the lead on the stroke of 45 minutes as her low shot just inside the box was too powerful and found the back of the net.
The Robins started the second half as they ended the first as Syme’s low strike in the 52nd minute doubled her tally and Bristol City’s lead.
Lexi Lloyd-Smith added a third for City in the 67th minute through a long-range effort that curled into the top corner.
Bristol’s fourth came from substitute Tianna Teisar in the 83rd minut before Amalie Thestrup pinched the ball on the halfway line and give Bristol a fifth in the seventh minute of added time.
