Durham Women were forced to settle for a point on their return to action as they drew with Sunderland.
Saoirse Noonan netted on her debut to put the hosts ahead, before Brianna Westrup levelled for the Black Cats within the opening 20 minutes.
And despite chances at both ends, that was how the game ended.
Durham handed full debuts to Tatiana Saunders, Jess Clarke and Noonan – with fellow new recruits Georgia Robert and Maria Farrugia among the substitutes.
The Wildcats had to do their share of defending in the opening exchanges as Sunderland started brightly, but then took the lead somewhat against the run of play.
Ellie Christon’s looping delivery was met by Noonan, who steered her header home for a goal just nine minutes into her first game.
Sunderland’s response was almost swift as Westrup headed against the bar from a corner, but the defender would level the scores from the next set piece as he stooped low to convert.
That buoyed the visitors and Saunders had to stay big to deny Tyler Dodds before Emma Kelly fired wide from range.
Durham did create more as the half wore on, with Noonan curling wide before Lambert saw penalty appeals waved away after going down under pressure in the box.
And that momentum carried into the second period – with Lambert denied by the fingertips of Moan after being cleverly played in by Noonan.
Lambert then again came close after turning a corner narrowly wide after Becky Salicki headed across goal – with Moan called into action once more to claw away Beth Hepple’s teasing free-kick.
But after that, genuine chances were few and far between. While Durham saw most of the ball, they failed to seriously test Moan and the game petered out to a draw.
